Bayern fans expect Heynckes to deliver

There is no doubt that the Bayern Munich fans expect the Champions League to be delivered on Saturday evening. One can hardly blame them when the final is being played inside their very own stadium. It would be difficult for any team to go to Bayern and get a result and many people are suggesting that Chelsea need to score first to have any chance of victory.

Amazingly this is coach Jupp Heynckes third stint at Bayern after being the coach from 1987-1991 and for a short while in 2009 before he went to manage Bayer Leverkusen. Heynckes is a Champions League winner before after taking Real Madrid to the title in 1998 and so would become one of the few managers to lift this competition on two occasions.

They have the firepower to really trouble Chelsea and Arjen Robben has been on fire in this tournament over the past two years or so. Bayern Munich were underdogs in the semi-final against Real Madrid and that suited them and Heynckes found a style to blunt the effectiveness of the Madrid front men and their attacking midfield potential. He will have to figure out a different game plan against Chelsea because The Blues have a less attacking style and can hit Bayern on the break in the same way that they punished Barcelona in the semi-final.
