Arteta calls for big response
Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has called on his team-mates to lift themselves following the grim home defeat to Swansea City.
The Gunners were outplayed at the Emirates Stadium by the Swans, who won thanks to two late goals. The home fans made their feelings known at the final whistle when the players left the pitch to a cacophony of boos. The defeat leaves Arsenal 10th in the Premier League table and they are now 1/1 with bet365 to finish in the top four. "The fans have got the right to be upset with us," said former Everton star Arteta. "We can't keep asking them to be behind us if afterwards we don't give them back what they deserve. So it's up to us. "We have to respect what they do. We will get criticised and it's part of our job, but the main thing is everyone gives 100 per cent and that's what we're trying to do." Arsene Wenger's side face Olympiakos on Tuesday in their final Champions League group stage match. The Gunners are 12/1 to win the clash 2-0.
