Anderson takes patient approach

2Nov 2012

England - Premier League

Brazilian midfielder Anderson believes he has learned from the mistakes he made in the past and is now ready to show the Manchester United fans his best.

The 25-year-old has struggled to live up to expectations since his £20million arrival from FC Porto in 2007. He has been plagued by hamstring and knee injuries over the last 18 months and tasted just 11 hours of football last season, but he impressed in the Carling Cup defeat at Chelsea and is expected to feature in this weekend's crunch Premier League clash with Arsenal, a game United are 4/6 with bet365 to win, while a 2-2 draw can be backed at 12/1. "I am trying to look after myself and get as fit as I can," said Anderson. "I have tried to push myself before and have ended up with more injury problems. I really want to succeed with United. I know if I am not 100 per cent fit then I should wait because I'll still get opportunities."
