Against All Odds: County to deny under-strength Celtic

5May 2013

Skót Premier League

Celtic travel to Ross County at midday and Paul Robinson thinks that those who tune into ESPN will see Celtic's away woes continue.

Ross County are fifth in the Clydesdale Bank Premier Division but they still have an outside chance of making the Europa League places. While they trail third placed Inverness by five points, they have a game in hand and the pair of them square off on the final day of the season.

While a top three finish would be a superb achievement, even finishing fifth would be something to be proud of given that they were only promoted to this division last year. Derek Adams has got his side in a great run of form at home - one defeat in 10, including five victories - and The Staggies have taken four points from a possible six off Celtic at Victoria Park this term.

Celtic have had the title wrapped up for weeks now but as I said in my preview of their match with Motherwell last Sunday, they have been struggling on the road of late.

The Bhoys continued that run with their third defeat in four at Fir Park Stadium, meaning they've now taken just two points from a possible 15 away from Celtic Park. Neill Lennon has been rotating his squad of late with the Scottish Cup Final in mind and while Kris Commons and Joe Ledley should return today, Fraser Forster, Emilio Izaguirre, Charlie Mulgrew, Gary Hooper and Georgios Samaras have all been given the week off.

Celtic don't really have much to play for at the moment and it's been showing in some of their performances. It's been a long-hard season for them and a motivated Ross County could take full advantage. That's why, with Celtic trading around the 1.89 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
