Against All Odds: Braunschweig to stand tall in German Title clash

There is a mouth-watering top of the table clash in Germany's Bundesliga Two this evening between Hertha Berlin and Braunschweig, and Paul Robinson thinks that those who tune into Betfair Live Video at 19:15 could see the away side pick up a positive result.

We had a terrible time of it last week but I'm putting it down to variance and not getting the rub of the green at certain times. I'm confident that we will get back on track and rack up a few winners, starting today.

Hertha Berlin were relegated from the top flight last season but they are looking very good for going straight back up. They currently top the table, 11 points clear of Kaiserslautern in third, with a game in hand. As there are only 11 matches to go this year, it's unlikely that they will finish outside the top two, the only question is whether they finish as champions.

Jos Luhukay's side are locked in a battle at the top with tonight's opponents. They have a slender one point advantage so anything other than a defeat will see them remain in pole position. The Old Lady suffered a bit of a setback at the start of March as they lost at Dynamo Dresden, but that was their first defeat since August.

Braunschweig have really impressed this term after only finishing eighth last season. Dominick Kumbela has weighed in with 17 goals and while they haven't been as prolific as Hertha, they have kept it tight at the back and conceded a similar number of goals.

Torsten Lieberknecht's men had a bit of a wobble a month ago as they picked up just a single point from a possible nine but they seem to have put that behind them by winning their last two against Bochum and Dynamo Dresden.

The Lions have won four of their last half dozen away from Eintracht-Stadion and they've actually only lost two of their 13 on the road this year, meaning they've avoided defeat in roughly 85% of their away fixtures.

Both of these sides look highly likely to be plying their trade with the likes of Bayern Munich next season so while winning the title would be nice, it would just be the cherry on the cake. I think the pressure will be off for this one and while I wouldn't rule out a home win, I think Hertha Berlin's odds of 1.88 are just a bit too short, and that's why I'm making them my lay of the day.
