Against All Odds: Arles to keep up fine away record
Dijon are odds-on for their French Ligue Two clash with Arles this evening and while the hosts are in excellent form, Paul Robinson thinks that the plucky Arles can take at least a point.
After being relegated to this division last season Dijon would have been hoping to go straight back up, but with just two fixtures remaining the five point gap to third will surely be too great to overhaul. They are actually unbeaten since the 0-2 defeat to Monaco in February and the main reason for their predicament is their inability to turn draws into victories.
Olivier Dall'Oglio's men have shared the spoils in 14 of their 36 league fixtures this term, including four of the last seven. They have won their last two, but those came against the struggling Sedan and the out of form Istres.
Arles are safely in mid-table and it would take a minor miracle for them to be relegated at this stage. Nevertheless they will want to secure that all important point that they need before the final game of the season next Friday.
Noël Tosi was appointed as manager on the 11th February this year and after losing his opening two in charge, his team have lost just one of their next 10, with the sole defeat coming against the promotion chasing Guingamp.
Away from Parc des Sports, Ares are unbeaten in five and despite Dijon's decent form I think Arles are good value to continue that run tonight. That's why, with Dijon trading around the 1.81 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
