Against All Odds: Angels to slay Dragons in Holland

In his search for a Friday night delight, Paul Robinson is taking us to Holland this evening as he feels that Den Bosch are too short against a rejuvenated Veendam.

Den Bosch are up to ninth in the table after going seven games undefeated - five of which were victories. That spell of form was much needed as last season's sixth placed finishers were having a terrible campaign. Jan Poortvliet's side lost 11 of their first 16 fixtures before this current run and while they did win the other five, 15 points just isn't good enough for this club.

The Blue White Dragons were held by Volendam in their last home game though and I still have slight reservations about their form at De Vliert as they've fallen to defeats to some pretty poor teams their this term - five sides in the bottom half of the table to be precise.

Veendam did us a favour on Monday by beating Cambuur who we laid at a ridiculously short 1.68. We were aided by the fact that Cambuur went down to 10 men, however the score was 1-1 at the time, which would have been good enough anyway.

That result extended their revival on the road as it's now just one defeat in eight away from De Langeleegte, after previously losing 13 out of 14 dating back to last season. Gert Heerkes' side are now up to eighth in the table and they will be looking to consolidate a top half finish from here on in.

Den Bosch have won the last three meetings between these two but Veendam are in much better form now and The Black Yellow Angels did win 2-1 on this ground back in November 2011.

I feel that Den Bosch have been priced up too short here as Veendam are no pushovers at the moment. That's why at around the 1.92 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
