Emmanuel Adebayor has performed a U-turn and decided to represent Togo at the Africa Cup of Nations, so damaging Tottenham's hopes of claiming a top-four spot in the Premier League this season.

The 28-year-old had planned to miss the tournament because of a row over team security and unpaid bonuses, but has now reversed his decision. Adebayor has already met up with the Togo squad, 20/1 with bet365 to top Group D at the Africa Cup of Nations, and could miss up to six Spurs games. It is unclear whether he will be available for Saturday's match at relegation-threatened QPR, a clash Andre Villas-Boas' side can be backed at 5/6 to win. Spurs are hoping Adebayor will return to London and play in this weekend's game before flying on to South Africa.
